Add “Account” as a Recipient Type in Pipeline Automation for Account-Level Communication

Release Date: July 23, 2026

Overview

Pipeline Automation previously allowed communication recipients to be selected using Contact, Lead Source, or Custom Email. With this enhancement, Account has been introduced as a new recipient type for communication automations.

This provides greater flexibility for agencies that maintain communication details at the account level instead of the contact level. When a pipeline automation is triggered, the system can now send the configured communication to the email address or phone number associated with the linked account on the pipeline card.

Use Case: Many agencies, especially those managing commercial insurance clients, maintain a single email address or phone number at the account level rather than under individual contacts. Previously, admins had to rely on contact information or manually specify recipients, which limited automation in these scenarios.

With the new Account recipient type, agencies can automate emails and text messages directly using the communication details stored on the associated account, making pipeline automations more flexible and reducing manual effort.

Configure the Account Recipient Type

  • Navigate to Pipeline.
  • Click the three-dot (⋮) menu for the desired pipeline.
  • Select Automation.
  • Create a new automation or edit an existing automation.
  • Add or edit an Email or Text communication action.
  • Under Recipient Type, select Account.
  • Complete the remaining automation configuration as required.
  • Save the automation.

Note: When a pipeline card reaches the configured stage or satisfies the automation trigger conditions, the communication will be sent using the email address or phone number available on the associated account linked to that pipeline card.

Notes

  • The Account recipient type is available for communication actions such as Email and Text within Pipeline Automation.
  • Communications will be sent using the contact information stored on the associated account linked to the pipeline card.
  • If the associated account does not contain the required email address or phone number, the communication will not be delivered.
  • This enhancement is particularly beneficial for agencies that primarily manage commercial clients or maintain account-level communication details.
