AI, Actually: From Experiment to Advantage

InsuredMine AI Pulse Survey preview: from AI experiment to advantage for insurance agencies

Ask ten agency owners if they’re using AI, and most will say yes. Ask what it has changed, and the answers get interesting.

Maybe it’s a chatbot on the website, maybe a tool that summarizes emails or maybe someone on the team quietly using a personal ChatGPT account. As a result, the word “adoption” now covers everything from one-off experiments to rebuilt workflows. Those are very different places to be, and it’s hard to tell from the outside which one your peers are in.

That question kept coming up in our conversations with agency leaders: how do I know where we stand, and what’s worth doing next?

The InsuredMine AI Pulse Report is our answer, built for the owners, technologists, and leaders who are eager to move but still working out where to start.

The question behind the survey

Over the past year, we’ve had multiple conversations with agencies about AI. The subject is met with enthusiasm, early wins, and then a lot of “we’re still figuring it out.” What we couldn’t answer was where, exactly, the figuring-out was getting stuck.

So, we turned those conversations into the AI Pulse Survey and sent it to the people who shape how their agencies adopt technology: the architects and strategists in our customer base.

Our principle: capture the big picture while avoiding generic readings, because nuance is often what drives, or blocks, change.

We asked four things:

  • Where are you on your AI journey? Readiness, tools in use, and how that varies by agency size and lines of business.
  • Where does the time go? Which workflows take up the most hours, and where the biggest opportunities sit.
  • What’s in the way? The main barriers, including how well the CRM and AMS work together, since AI can only work with the data it can reach.
  • What comes next? What agencies plan to adopt over the next 12 months, what would build their confidence, and what an AI-ready agency looks like in five years.

AI has sparked a race, but the distance between what they’re doing today and what’s possible is where the value sits. The survey gives us an idea of which use cases are AI-enablement friendly in the near term, the long term, and which are only emerging.

We analyzed everything by agency size. A 10-person shop and an 80-person agency face different constraints, an average wouldn’t help either of them.

A few patterns already stood out, enough to tell us this isn’t going to be a predictable report. We’re revealing all of it on Oct 29th, 2026.

Why this matters now

Right now, the gap between agencies is mostly about confidence and clarity, not technology. The tools are available to everyone. What separates agencies is the expertise to know where to point them, where to implement them, and in what order.

We want agency leaders to be able to see where their peers are, compare it with their own situation, and choose where to invest with more confidence and less guesswork.

What’s next

This is the preview. The full AI Pulse Report goes deeper on each of these themes, by agency size, and includes some things we didn’t expect, and a few we’ll admit aren’t flattering to us as a vendor. We’d rather you see the real picture than a polished one.

The AI Pulse Report releases on October 29th.
